How We Got Started

Our Story

The question I get asked the most is "How long have you been baking"?

The question I get asked the most is, “How long have you been baking?” I have been baking since I was a little girl, spending time in the kitchen with my mom and my aunts. I wanted to cook and bake like them, but back then, I didn’t go to school for baking or run a bakery. I was simply learning, experimenting, and falling in love with creating something special from simple ingredients. Over the years, baking became one of the places where I found peace. I would try new recipes, change them, make them my own, and share them with the people around me. Friends like Scarlett White, Eva Alexander, and long-time supporters kept encouraging me, telling me I should stop giving my baked goods away and start selling them. That encouragement, along with faith, family, and a whole lot of persistence, helped Lil Mama’s Sweets & Treats grow from a kitchen dream into a real bakery brand.

My Biggest Supporters

First and foremost, I credit God with all the success we have achieved thus far, without God we wouldn’t have made it past the first 6 months! Next, my husband Shaun K. Golden is my biggest cheerleader, and the best business partner I could have. Of course I have to recognize my mama, kids, niece and her children, Aunt Bettye, cousins other extended family. I would also like to thank our amazing coffee bartenders at the VA Hospital in Augusta, GA, along with our Pastor Dr. Jamyle Searcy,
